Horner criticizes conservative officials over qualifying rain delay

Christian Horner has criticised F1's officials for being to conservative last weekend during qualifying. Five minutes into the session as the rain poured down, the red flag was brought out after the track was deemed too unsafe to drive on, confirmed by Romain Grosjean who spun off down the start/finish straight.
Qualifying was then delayed for two and a half hours while updates were dished out every 15 minutes. Fans at the track and on social media responded in anger and Horner has criticized the officials, stating that they acted too conservatively over the situation.
"To be honest, I think they acted very conservatively. I would say too conservatively," the Red Bull boss said. "Formula 1 is not a sport that requires exceptionally normal weather. From a safety standpoint it is understandable that there was some caution in this instance, but we could have got back onto the track a lot sooner," he added.

So true, we gone way over the top and Roman G was on the wet line partly and caused it anyway, we need danger it's not Golf, Imagine the danger at the isle of Man TT, they are going too far now on safety............

See that misconception do bother me. We do not need more danger (I mean, who want another Bianchi any time soon?), we need more excitement. It wasnt necessarily dangerous to go during the wet weather, so by all means go.

if anything it showed that race controll lacks vision. in rain or wet conditions a track simply doesnt dry or clear by waiting. It took over two hours before you saw 3 men with a broom, one with a leafblower (goddamn rly???) and a tractor with a blower....
They could have given tracktime without sessiontime running so that cars would create the dry line. If needed with a safety car leading the train.

A pretty good idea, actually. Though to be fair, looking at the way the track handled the water, Im not sure how much it would've helped. They really need to rethink a thing or two and prepare better for future weather like this at Monza.

CALLE.ITW - unless you are boring - danger is fun and why F1 is what it is, look at the isle of Man TT, bike racing, formula one is playschool in comparison to this and health and safety has gone mad.

Maybe I am boring, since I want my favourite drivers to be alive, but there's IMO a big difference between exciting and dangerous.
