Kevin Magnussen says F1 rules 'nonsense'

Kevin Magnussen has described as "nonsense" the amount of penalties handed out to F1 drivers. After run-ins with Nico Hulkenberg, Fernando Alonso and others, the Dane is earning a reputation as a 'bad boy'.
For instance, he told Hulkenberg to "suck my b-lls" during a live TV interview recently, and has taken a strong stance against the safety innovation Halo. "People must not think that the highway is more dangerous than what we do," he told Germany's Sport Bild.
As for his "suck my b-lls" comment, the Haas driver said it is within the drivers' power to "make formula one even cooler". "On the track, we have too many rules," said Magnussen, who turned 25 on Thursday. "Clearly we need rules, but not every single manoeuvre (should be) questioned," he insists.
"The fact that you are not allowed to push anyone out of the track on a straight line is reasonable," Magnussen explained. "But there is a lot of stuff that is complete nonsense. They should just let us fight our battles on the track." (GMM)

I agree. F1 has become waaaay to sterile. Both on and off the track. I'd love for deregulation to prevail both in terms of car design, and in terms of the racing on the track.
Both Hamilton, and most recently Vettel have proved that the blue flags aren't really necessary, and they basically ruin the races for the slower part of the grid.
If they won't change the rules, then at the very least they should be consistent in how they interpret them.

Some nonsense, but mostly I think the current rules are okay. Its just the way some of the guys like whiting use them. But please do not reduce the amount of allocated parts, thats just incomprehensibly stupid. Oh, FIA!

What I don't get about the reduction of the allocated parts is that we're talking prototypes! Parts will never be mass produced, so you'll never see economies of scale. What you will see, however, is a joke of a championship, where the manufactures will look incompetent to the casual fan, just for laughs and giggles

I agree, but I don't think Magnussen should be the one doing the talking. He is a bit like Maldonado when fighting for position and deserved every single penalty he's received

One thing is absolutely clear, KMAG is NOT a pay driver!
He is hired by HAAS for 2 seasons and recieve a normal.
Palmer is a pay driver.

So... on a totally unrelated note, is it possible to block people on this site?
BTW Jutlandia is right, he's not a pay driver, nor was he at Renault - And certainly not at McLaren, for obvious reasons. He does, however, like everybody else bring some sponsors with him.

No, as far as I know, it is not possible to block someone on this site. You can try to have a friendly debate with someone you disagree with if you want... I am sure that'll be about as pleasant as a bath in sulphuric acid while drinking a cocktail consisting of asbesthos and David Cameron's tears.

I expected it to be like a very very dry Martiniesque thing, except toxic, quite deadly and seeping with urge to do things with pigs.

I think Kevin should have some credit for not being just a team puppet like many other boring drivers, he says what he thinks, I can’t blaim him for that

I know. I am from Denmark and as such I am predujiced for Kevin. But I really feel that if you look at the facts then he is punished for moves that other driveres get away with and that just isn't right.
I think one of the main problems is that you have different people judging every race and thus the rulings get quite inconsistent which again means the driveres have no idea how to approach the various racing situations.
The F1 circus needs to hire a set of people that can follow it around on all circuits to set a standard for interpreting the rules. Then you will get consistency and as a result the drivers will actually know what is expected of them from one race to the next.
