Ricciardo reveals radical new helmet design

Daniel Ricciardo has shown off his new helmet design ahead of the 2019 season.

The Australian has taken a radical new design, it what is his first year in the sport not part of the Red Bull programme. 

The design is a mix of a number of different colours, including blue, pink, green and black. Ricciardo confirmed at pre-season testing that he would be revealing a brand new livery, in Melbourne.

"I’ve been working with an Australian artist, and he has been working on it for quite a few months. I am trying to get away from the typical helmet these days, so it should be funky. It is kind of artistic in a modern way."

Ricciardo will race with Renault this year alongside Nico Hulkenberg, as the Enstone-based squad looks to build back towards the front of the grid.

      Would you two lighten up and live a little! Not everything has to be perfect all the time. It's going to clash, so what? Cant all be sheep all of the time...

      Fine, I'll say it then. I don't like it. It looks ugly and damn uncool while the Hulk comes through again with a totally badass helmet.

      Im in the zone where I could've liked it, had a bit less been "going on" with it, if you get my drift. Fewer colours and/or patterns, and I would've gone from a bit meh/no thanks to neat'o. But as it stands, it'll look a bit glaring couple with that black/yellow Renault.

    Great design!! Its awsome to see F1 lids still using cool fresh designs unlike other motor sports/ diciplines that have gone totally corporate on their helmet designs. Nice one Ricky Boby!!
