Vettel: Funny decisions not making our sport popular

Sebastian Vettel has sympathy for Formula 1 fans following the Canadian Grand Prix after he was handed a five second time penalty during the race.
The penalty ultimately gifted the race win to Lewis Hamilton who followed Vettel for the whole race in second place.

While pressuring Vettel ahead, the Ferrari driver made a mistake and slid across the track at Turn 3, with the Stewards deeming his re-joining move to be dangerous.
Vettel says he hopes the fans return to the race after the Stewards decision, affirming that they are not painting the sport in a good way
"It's not making our sport popular, is it? With these kind of decisions, people want to see us race and that was racing," Vettel said.
"I hope the people come back. They are the reason why we are able to put this show on, build these incredible cars. It's just a shame when we have all these little, funny decisions."
Vettel encouraged by the Montreal crowd
Vettel says he was inspired by the crowd as he could see them cheering him on during the race.
"It's not about the title now, I think we really deserved to win today," he commented. "That's our opinion and I think the people's opinion out there.
"It was a great race, they really cheered me on every single lap. Turn 2, I didn't have that much time to look but at Turn 10 I always had a look at the grandstands and they were on fire, I really enjoyed that.
"It's a bit weird now, I don't know what else to say."

A penalty was applied where the culprit was very upset and called. For an overhaul of the entire rulebook... Lol that's hardly news. That's basically every time a driver gets a penalty. The only difference is that it was Ferrari and Seb. Had the penalty been against a Haas or Renault, none of this "concerned fans" would care at all

Really! VER can crash into anybody and ruin their race without consequence and they give him a penalty for leaving the track but not gaining an advantage? Like Ted said, if he gets a penalty for that we should pack it up all go home. Well, I am home but that penalty is BS!!

Don't let that distract you from the fact that it's at least the 5th time in 2 years that Seb makes a major mistake under pressure. The decision today should have never been an issue. He made it into a controversial thing. But I get it, I'm sure it would have been Mercedes complaining if Seb didn't get penalized.

100% right decision, vettel make mistake ( not intentional ) and he has to take consequence as he forced Ham to move to the right and slow down..............Ham may overtake him at that point but did not happen.............as a benefit of doubt, he was given 5 second.......( vettel can win by more than 5 seconds, then no issue, right )
