McLaren is delighted to announce a multi-faceted, long-term partnership with Dell Technologies, the world’s largest privately-controlled technology company.
Dell Technologies, which consists of seven global brands – Dell, Dell EMC, Pivotal, RSA, Secureworks, Virtustream and VMware – will bring its deep technology expertise to all McLaren Technology Group companies, including McLaren Racing and McLaren Applied Technologies, as well as benefitting McLaren’s esports programme, World’s Fastest Gamer.
The McLaren Technology Group has just completed the first part of its IT transformation journey towards a high-performing hybrid cloud capability. This includes a modern, agile, automated, performant and highly available set of data centre services, using Dell EMC compute, storage, and infrastructure management software.
The partnership will seamlessly integrate Dell Technologies’ wide-ranging platform of solutions into McLaren’s day-to-day operations, including support for design and manufacturing, trackside operations, telemetry, safety-critical ecosystems, storage, esports and simulation, fan engagement and guest experience.
McLaren and Dell Technologies intend to collaborate on future projects in the areas of security, cloud, digital and workplace transformation technologies, with scope for technical innovation not only within the two organisations but also the wider industry.

Good news for them, though personally Im not fond of Dell. Have they sorted out their working conditions in China?

Any company operating or subcontracting in China is very likely to have working conditions or environmental impact that is illegal in EU. The problems range from China's laws allowing a lot more. It is also common that industries even break the relaxed rules. Of course it is much less likely for operations directly linked to a big multinational than a smaller Chinese subcontractor.

Very much so, and then it hould be telling that Dell is infamous even in terms of Chinese work condition standards. And when you are infamous for bad working conditions in a country like China, you know something is fucked up.

And yes, I realize its impossible to avoid anything produced in China, and usually I dont actively avoid them, but when you have a company with worse work ethics than Apple or Lenovo for their Chinese workers, and only Huawei has worse reports, I wont support them.

Maybe, but sarchasm detectors supplied by Thermo Fischer are well known for their low sensitivity to trace amounts of sarchasm in text. :p

If you took out and removed all the products..... in an average house.... made in China under poor working conditions, your average house would be half empty, your car wouldn't start and you'd have no mobile or computer. The World lives on cheap products made from slave labour in China. Zero reson to pick on Dell, Apple or anyone else that's the way economics work - you want things cheap - China makes it because of cheap labour!

Actually, not all of it is. :) Notice how I havent excluded any other company from my list, companies are companies after all, but some are worse than others, Im sure you agree. :)
