F1 sporting boss Ross Brawn says he hopes Fernando Alonso stays in F1.
Rumours are growing stronger by the race that the Spaniard, who won Le Mans recently and last year raced at Indianapolis, may quit F1 at the end of the season.
Brawn says the way Alonso has handled multiple consecutive weekends of sports cars and F1 is impressive.
"You never know, maybe he's looking for something out of formula one, but I really hope that's not the case," Brawn, representing Liberty Media, is quoted by Marca.
"He is still very fast and F1 needs drivers like him with charisma and talent," he added.

I would also miss Alonso, but mostly of all the hot air that comes out every time he opens his mouth, and start talking of the "fantastic" car he's driving.

Thats really my main gripe with Alonso. I'd miss him too, but I wouldnt miss the drama and politics he bring to the sport. And seeing as its election year here in Sweden Im all but full on the political stuff. To the point in which I could burst literally any second. Yes, you may take cover, and yes, the residue is highly corrosive.

Actually I havent. Its an interesting compilation for sure, lots of it is stuff we F1 geeks are pretty aware of already, but pretty neat nevertheless. Anything about the article in particular you had in mind?

@CALLE.ITW It was not anything specific in the acticle that i refering to, it was just that this article sums up what kind of politicial (and manipulation) game he is playing.
But i would like to know what Tom Kristensen is thinking about Alonso's remarks on his "My Le Mans win was the greatest of all time" with no real competion in his class.

Oh, 'tis just the same old bragging. Also dont like how he always say "his win", when Le Mans is a group effort.

No debate on whether Alonso would be missed on track. Off track? All the politics... I actually think that for good and for bad F1 needs personalities, characters. Those are becoming more and more rare in these F1. Other than Lewis, Ricciardo, and Max, Magnussen maybe... Most act like PR creatures.

Alonso may well be staying in f1 ;p eric has left Maclaren.
Alonso had some input with Zak brown and Defarran.
And now we have andrea stella ( Alonso`s ferrari engineer that came in 2015) taking control of the race side at track and de ferran the other.....
