Williams Racing's Chief Technical Officer Paddy Lowe believes that it is unlikely any team will be able to find any loopholes with the new regulations being implemented in 2019. These changes see a range of parts on the cars such as the wings and brake ducts being simplified in an effort to reduce dirty air and produce more on-track racing.
Lowe, who previously worked with Mercedes and McLaren believes that we won't see a repeat of loopholes and questioning of teams such as the 2009 season's double diffuser controversy. Lowe also hopes that teams questioning each over over the legality of their cars will not cause any arguments when the first round gets underway in Melbourne.
"The teams have been quite ready and open. At least some of them," Lowe said. "They put stuff on the table that's then been heavily constrained. The regulations are very restrictive."
Lowe will be hoping for a much better year for his Williams team after a disastrous effort in 2018 which only seen them score seven points and finish last in the constructors' championship. However, despite the new regulations attempting to produce better racing by slightly slowing the cars, Lowe is concerned with the possible overall performance of the 2019 spec cars.
"I hope it's the case for everybody else, but we're struggling to find a lot of performance out of these new front wings" expressed Lowe. "Everybody has been quite enthusiastic to define things in more and more specific details so everybody knows what they're with."

This statement kinda makes me all the more certain that Williams will be left in the dust, while some other teams have found the loopholes.
