SportPesa has been confirmed as Racing Point's title sponsor for the 2019 season. The company is a prominent sports betting platform that operates in Africa, the Isle of Man and the UK.
SportPesa originally launched in Kenya and takes its name the Kiswahili word for ‘Money’, which is 'Pesa'.
The company will reportedly offer Racing Point $8 million for its first year followed by $10m in 2020. An option is also in the pipeline for a 2021 deal, which could see SportPesa pay a further $12m.
The SportPesa brand is seen on the new race livery for Racing Point. The team has opted to stick with its BWT sponsored pink livery, but has painted the area around the engine cover blue with the SportPesa logo with it.

There’s a lot of money sloshing around with on-line betting/gambling in the UK. This not a surprise, bit edgy maybe on the purist ethical side but it’s what people do for some excitement. I’ve personally never looked into what odds are on what in F1 but there’s probably quite a choice. My favourite would be a stake on what lap 1st front wing to get popped off. Worst odds would be lap 1, 1st corner ?

I wouldn't mind it, if it didn't pollute our radios that much. I don't care what others do with their money really, however, the kinda leeway the casino industry is getting, especially as of late here in Sweden, it kinda taking the piss. Its to the point that Sky looks conservative with their betting ads in comparison. And I can't stand the kinda unregulated gambling thats been allowed to happen in video games with the lootboxes. You know you done goofed if an industry is allowed to refer to their bigger spending customers as whales.

being in kenya at the moment, i have some inside info on this
technically, you don't say Kiswahili in English. that's the swahili word for swahili.
the same as española is the spanish word for spanish. hope i spelled that right.
anyway, good to see that logo on the car for both parties.
mpesa deserves to go worldwide too
