Scuderia Toro Rosso Daniil Kvyat has spoken of how he feels positive with the 2019 STR14 after a productive day of testing. The Russian driver managed a total of 101 laps with a fastest time of 1:18.682 during Wednesday's test.
Kvyat returns to the team for a third stint in 2019, after he was dropped from the Red Bull junior squad after the 2017 US Grand Prix. He previously debuted with the team in 2014 and made the step up to Red Bull for 2015, only to be demoted back to Toro Rosso before the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix.
"I would say that we had a decent day of running, we ran some useful test items and got some good laps on the board," Kvyat said. "Of course, you always want to do a few more laps but we had a couple of small issues here and there, it wasn’t anything major, although the time adds up.”
Kvyat partners rookie Alexander Albon for 2019 in a new lineup for the team, this season being the first time that Kvyat will race a car powered by Japanese manufacturer Honda.
"In the end, it was a productive day and that’s the most important thing, we got to test many useful items so now we’ll focus on the next day of testing," Kvyat added. “You can’t look too much into the timesheets as everyone is on a different programme of testing but I’m feeling quite confident with the car.”

Yeah, that royal blue rocks and the highlight colors look real good. Better than the RBR car methinks.

Miles better. Mind, that RB testing livery was pretty rad. Shame they dropped it. Also a pity neither STR or RB have Honda logos on their caps.
