Hamilton thought that the race win had escaped him when he realised that his medium tyres weren't holding up. However, he took the victory, fending off a persistent attack from Verstappen all through the race. Having started from pole and converting it to victory, it was anything but an easy ride for Hamilton.

Vettel secured Ferrari's best result of the season, breaking Mercedes' streak of one-two finishes. It is worth noting that he moved into third following Bottas' clash with Verstappen in the pit lane, and then inherited second after Verstappen was penalised. His crash during FP3 didn't do him any favours either. Nevertheless, a strong result for Ferrari, who was not on the pace of Mercedes all weekend.

Bottas proved in qualifying once more that he is a pole position threat to Hamilton this year, missing out by less than a tenth. He was unlucky to drop to fourth after being forced into a second pit stop when he made contact with Verstappen. It may have been a blessing in disguise, as he attached the hards to his car having originally gone for the mediums.

Verstappen tried all he could to win the Monaco Grand Prix, but the difficulty of passing around Monaco denied him his first win since Mexico last year. He hounded Hamilton for almost 70 laps, but couldn't quite pull a move off, despite his best efforts. His penalty was a fault of the team, which left him in fourth place.

Gasly is slowly easing into Red Bull, and displayed arguably his best race yet for the team. After being hit with a grid penalty when his team failed to notify him Grosjean was on a hot lap behind in qualifying, he recovered nicely to finish fifth with the fastest lap of the race.

Carlos Sainz may have got lucky with other teams messing up their strategy, but finishing 'best of the rest' is a great result for McLaren. He held his own despite the Toro Rossos pressuring him for much of the race, taking his best result of the year.

Kvyat qualified well in the Toro Rosso and has been building on his momentum for some time now. One could argue that he's the most consistent midfield driver on the grid at the moment, as he looks to retain a seat in F1 for next year, whether it be at Toro Rosso or elsewhere.

Albon continues to make a strong name for himself in F1, qualifying and finishing inside the top ten at Monaco. Like his teammate, he has been consistent and went a step further this weekend by finally getting points after two consecutive 11th place finishes.

Ricciardo held a strong grimace after the race ended, as his result could have been so much more. Before making his pit stop, Ricciardo was running in P5, but emerged in traffic which ruined any chance of a strong race. Nevertheless, he managed to secure two points on offer.

Setting 50 laps on the soft tyres set Grosjean up nicely after he dropped out in Q2 when he got blocked by Gasly. Starting from P13, Grosjean drove his own race to bring home a point for himself and Haas - an admirable recovery after a tough Saturday.

There was nothing wrong with Lando Norris' weekend in Monaco, but he was unfortunate to miss out on a spot in Q3 which compromised his race. The British rookie did well to go long on his first stint on the medium tyres, and challenged Riccardo in the final stages of the race and just missed out on a points finish.

Magnussen was one of the stars of qualifying, as he lined up in P5 after Pierre Gasly's penalty was applied. However, the Dane was a victim of a poor strategy by Haas as the American outfit called him into the pits during the safety car period. He then went into collide with Perez and cut the harbourside chicane, earning himself a five second time penalty.

Racing Point did not just have a tough race, but a tough weekend as a whole. Perez suffered from the team's lack of pace around the famous street circuit, and once again the Mexican driver got the most he could from a slow package.

It was a weekend to forget for Hulkenberg, as the German driver failed to replicate the pace of his teammate Ricciardo both in qualifying and the race. He was unfortunate to firstly pick up damage when Leclerc tried and failed to overtake at Rascasse, and then also with a poor strategy call from his Renault team.

Williams seemed to be closer to the back of the pack in Monaco, as George Russell finished in what was an excellent P15 for Williams completely on merit. The young Brit also out-qualified teammate Kubica for the sixth time
this season.

Stroll had yet another bad weekend as he was out-qualified by his teammate Perez on Saturday, and then had a poor race on Sunday. The Canadian was in the wars with Raikkonen during the race, in what was a lacklustre weekend for the Canadian and Racing Point.

Raikkonen had a good first half of the race, where he managed to extend the life of his soft tyres to put his Alfa Romeo in a strong position. However, then after his one and only pitstop he returned to the track into traffic, which more or less marked the end of his race. It was an uneventful weekend for the lceman in a car which was off the pace throughout.

Kubica was enjoying a good start to a race for the first time this season as he was ahead of Russell, after a qualifying where he was much closer to his teammate than we've seen previously. However, he was then unlucky to be hit by Giovinazzi at Rascasse, which caused a traffic jam much like we saw in the Formula 2 feature race on Friday.

Giovinazzi had yet another weekend that he will wish to forget, as although he had a strong qualifying where he was not far off the pace of Raikkonen, he got it all wrong in the race. Although on a similar strategy to Raikkonen, the Italian crashed into Robert Kubica in an ambitious overtaking attempt and finished last
of the classified runners.

Leclerc was unlucky to be knocked out in the first stage of qualifying on Saturday, as his Ferrari team opted to keep him in the garage instead of going for another run like his teammate. However, although it has to be
admired that he was willing to take the risk, the Monégasque driver made a costly error when making a move on Nico Hulkenberg that put him out of the race.

Did u guys look at the overtakes Leclerc put on the show? and 5.0 for his driving? Or to the Ferrari (mis) management?

I think Grosjean was classified as 10th after the penalty. So he took home one point, right?

What a joke. VER a 10 after deliberately causing a collision in the pit lane and then hitting HAM when it's clear he is not going to get past? Clearly some bias there.
