Barrichello klaagt over slecht zicht in spiegels

Williams-coureur Rubens Barrichello is niet te spreken over de zijspiegels op de huidige Formule 1-auto's. De spiegels zouden de rijders een beeld moeten geven van wat er achter ze gebeurt, maar dat lukt slechts in zeer beperkte mate, zo laat de Braziliaan weten.

"Het zicht in de spiegels is slechter dan ooit", aldus Barrichello tegenover Auto Motor und Sport. Sauber-rijder Pedro de la Rosa liet zich in Melbourne eveneens kritisch uit over de spiegels en beloofde bij de internationale autosportbond FIA aan te dringen op een betere oplossing.

    Misschien dat Alonso daar de deur dicht gooide in de 1e bocht.

    Toevallig want op de BBC ging David Coulthard naast de Williams op de grid staan en zei dat hij het ongelooflijk vondt dat ze bij Williams de spiegels zo krom op hebben gezet (voor aerodinamische doeleinden) dat de coureur de hoofd 90 graden moet draaien op in de spiegel te kunnen kijken. Tevens liet hij zien hoe groot de dode hoek was.

      Echter stond David toen stil op de grid in droge condities. Volgende keer eens zien hoeveel je echt ziet met 250 km/h en vocht/condens.
