Hype Energy als sponsor in zee met Force India

Het team van Force India heeft een nieuwe sponsor aan zich bonden. Hype Energy, de energiedrankenfabrikant waarvan voormalig coureur Bertrand Gachot eigenaar is, is in zee gegaan met de Indiase renstal. Het logo van Hype staat dit seizoen op de side-pod wings van de VJM08.

Force India-baas Vijay Mallya: "Het doet me deugd om Hype Energy aan de vooravond van het nieuwe seizoen als nieuwe partner te verwelkomen. Het is een dynamisch en opwindend merk dat prima bij ons imago als team en bij dat van de Formule 1 als geheel past. De wereldwijde aantrekkingskracht van deze sport biedt Hype het platform om een globaal netwerk op te bouwen en we kijken uit naar een succesvolle samenwerking."

      Volgens mij was dat de Footwork, waar Jos voor testte.

    Grappig verhaal: eigenaar Bertrand Gachot reed zijn laatste F1 races voor Jordan, het team dat later via Midland en Spyker in Force India is getransformeerd. Gachot werd toen ontslagen omdat hij pepperspray tegen een Londense taxichauffeur had gebruikt en in de cel was beland.

    Fun fact 2: Zijn vervanger debuteerde toen op Spa, zou snel verkassen naar Benetton, 2x wereldkampioen worden daar en dan bij Ferrari de meest succesvolle rijder aller tijden gaan worden.
