Hill en Villeneuve openbaren hun 'dream team'

Oud-coureurs Damon Hill en Jacques Villeneuve zijn na Bernie Ecclestone, Lewis Hamilton, Christian Horner, Romain Grosjan, Sebastian Vettel, Nico Hülkenberg, Toto Wolff, Helmut Marko, Sergio Perez en Jenson Button de volgende die hun droomformatie aan Formula1.com hebben doorgegeven. Hier het ideale team van de beide eenmalige wereldkampioenen.

Hill kiest als rijdersduo voor zijn vader Graham Hill en zichzelf. Damon en Graham Hill zijn nog altijd de enige vader en zoon die beiden de wereldtitel in de Formule 1 voor zich opgeëist hebben. Damon in 1996, Graham in 1962 en 1968. Damon Hill legt de leiding van zijn 'dream team' in handen van het duo Frank Williams en Patrick Head. Als auto viel zijn keuze op de Williams FW14.

Villeneuve ging net als Hill voor Frank Williams en Patrick Head als teambazen. Voor de rest wijkt de selectie van de Canadees af van zijn voormalig teamgenoot. Villeneuve formeerde een rijderskoppel bestaande uit Niki Lauda en Michael Schumacher, samen goed voor tien kampioenschappen. Zijn droomauto is de Lotus 78 waarmee Mario Andretti in 1978 de titel won.

    Ja die Lotus 78 was geweldig. Spijtig dat Petterson in die ooit om het leven kwam in Monza

      Lotus (vroeger) was zo innovatief en op het randje van de mogelijkheden dat je bijna kan zeggen: "In welke Lotus is er niemand om het leven gekomen?"

    Villeneuve gaat voor Schumacher, dat vind ik nou wel een verassing.

    De keuzes van Hill had ik wel verwacht.

    De Keuze van Villeneuve vindt ik wel opmerkelijk, had niet gedacht dat hij voor Schumacher zou kiezen. De keuze van Hill had ik verwacht, al vindt ik het triest dat hij zichzelf kiest. Ik vind gewoon dat je in dit soort zaken dat men zichzelf niet in een dreamteam moet plaatsen, dan moet je aan anderen overlaten dit te doen.
