Twee oud Formule 1-coureurs zijn vandaag jarig

Oud Formule 1-coureurs Robin Widdows en Pierre-Henri Raphanel vieren vandaag hun verjaardag. Widdows heeft de leeftijd van 74 jaar bereikt. Zijn enige Grand Prix dateert uit het jaar 1968, toen de Brit in zijn thuisrace uitviel in een Cooper. Raphanel, 55 jaar sinds vandaag, probeerde zich eind jaren tachtig zeventien maal te kwalificeren voor een Grand Prix namens Larrousse, Coloni en Rial. Dat lukte één keer, in Monaco 1989. De felicitaties gaan uit naar de jarige Widdows en Raphanel.

      Maak je borst maar nat, er zijn misschien wel honderd coureurs die slechts 1 GP hebben gereden.

    Puntje op de i, Raphanel deed geen 15 maar 17 pogingen (alle 16 races van 1989 plus 1 in 1988).
