Pirelli selecteert ook voor Azerbeidzjan compounds C2, C3 en C4

Pirelli heeft bekend gemaakt welke bandencompounds het later dit jaar meeneemt naar de Grand Prix van Azerbeidzjan, de zevende Grand Prix van het aankomende seizoen.

Oorspronkelijk zou Bakoe de achtste Grand Prix van het seizoen organiseren, maar door het uitstellen van de Chinese Grand Prix schuift Azerbeidzjan een plekje op op de kalender. Het is de vijfde keer dat de Formule 1 in het land te gast is: in 2016 heette de race nog de Europese Grand Prix, maar een jaar later werd de naam al veranderd in de Azerbeidzjaanse Grand Prix. 

Wat betreft de keuze voor de banden houdt Pirelli de lijn aan die het voor de eerste vier races van het seizoen (inclusief China) ook ingezet heeft. Ook in Bakoe worden dus de compounds C2, C3 en C4 gebruikt. Voor de Grands Prix in Nederland, Spanje en Monaco moet Pirelli de keuzes nog naar buiten brengen.

    Als je de tabel zo bekijkt vraag je je af waarom er nog een C1 en C5 is.... Jammer dat ze niet vaker een sprongetje maken in de beschikbare typen banden.....

      Idd. jammer ja.
      C1 te zacht en C5 te hard.
      Waarschijnlijk alleen in Monaco de C1 en C5 is volgens mij gewoon weggegooid geld.
      Geen enkel team zal deze op welk circuit dan ook gebruiken.
