Ferrari geeft reservecoureur Shwartzman Hypercar-zitje

Ferrari zette afgelopen jaren tweemaal Robert Shwartzman in tijdens een vrije training. Hij fungeert als reservecoureur van het team, maar hij maakt geen kans op een Formule 1-zitje. Ferrari heeft hem nu wel een ander competitief zitje gegeven voor het aankomende seizoen.

Shwartzman gaat dit jaar namelijk in het World Endurance Championship rijden. De met een Israëlische licentie rijdende Rus zal een Hypercar van Ferrari gaat besturen. De Italiaanse renstal zet dit jaar een derde 499P in tijdens de WEC-races. De wagen met startnummer 83 zal gaan rijden onder de vlag van AF Corse. Shwartzman zal de auto gaan delen met de Chinese coureur Ye Yifei en voormalig Formule 1-coureur Robert Kubica.
