Williams vindt nieuwe partner in Michael Johnson Performance Inc

Het team van Williams heeft een nieuwe partner mogen verwelkomen. Michael Johnson Performance Inc, een bedrijf dat gespecialiseerd is in het trainen van atleten, gaat zorg dragen voor de fitheid van de monteurs van de Britse renstal. Geestelijk vader van de firma is voormalig topatleet Michael Johnson, winnaar van meerdere gouden medailles op Olympische Spelen.

Teambaas Frank Williams: “Eind jaren negentig van de vorige eeuw had ik het voorrecht om Michael voor het eerst te ontmoeten. Ik heb altijd de toewijding die nodig is om Olympisch kampioen te worden bewonderd. Toen ik hem recent weer sprak gaf Michael aan dat hij een bedrijf had opgezet om de fysieke prestaties van sporters te optimaliseren. Ik was zeer benieuwd om te leren wat dat voor ons team kon betekenen. De principes die hij gebruikte om tot de snelste man op aarde uit te groeien kunnen we ook in de Formule 1 toepassen. We kijken uit naar de samenwerking met Michael Johnson Performance voor de komende jaren.”

Michael Johnson: “Iedereen bij Michael Johnson Performance is opgewonden over het partnerschap met Williams. Williams staat bekend als een van de succesvolste Formule 1-teams aller tijden en wij kijken ernaar uit om het team te helpen om die traditie voort te zetten. Ik ben een groot Formule 1-fan sinds ik in 1990 in België voor het eerst een Grand Prix bezocht. Ik heb vertrouwen dat de pitcrew van Williams profijt zal hebben van de expertise van ons team.”

    Dus de Williams coureurs krijgen nu doping?

    Overigens wel respect voor zijn resultaten voordat doping incident.

    Als ik naar Maldonado kijk en zijn afkomst zou doping me niets verbazen ;-)
