Lehman Brothers van plan om Formule 1-aandelen te verkopen

De Amerikaanse bank Lehman Brothers heeft de intentie om binnen twee jaar haar Formule 1-aandelen van de hand te doen. Dat meldt The Guardian. De Britse krant schat de waarde van de 15 procent aandelen van Lehman Brothers op 1,5 miljard dollar.

Lehman Brothers ging in 2008 bankroet bij het begin van de kredietcrisis en heeft het geld van de Formule 1-aandelen nodig om schulden af te betalen. De Amerikaanse bank werd in 2002 aandeelhouder in Delta Topco, het overkoepelende bedrijf dat de Formule 1 beheert en waarin CVC grootaandeelhouder is.

    Het is niet Lehman die dat bepaald, maar de curatoren. In de States leven ze allemaal vrolijk verder en welvaart groeit, terwijl hier de crises nog overal voelbaar is.
