Daniel de Jong valt net buiten de top tien in training

Daniel de Jong heeft in de GP2-training op de Hockenheimring de elfde tijd laten noteren. De coureur van MP Motorsport nam al vroeg het heft in handen en klokte de snelste ronde, maar naarmate de sessie vorderde zakte hij weg tot net buiten de top tien.

Vooraan bepaalde Stefano Coletti het tempo. Met een 1:24.771 was hij een tiende sneller dan Stoffel Vandoorne. Raffaele Marciello completeerde de top drie. Alexander Rossi wisselde deze week van team, naar Campos in plaats van Caterham. Hij legde voor zijn nieuwe werkgever beslag op de vierde positie. Kampioenschapleider Jolyon Palmer nestelde zich achter De Jong op de twaalfde plek.
