De feestdagen staan voor de deur en dat is traditiegetrouw een periode om terug én vooruit te blikken. Een week na de kerst gaat er een hoop vuurwerk de lucht in om het nieuwe jaar in te luiden. Wat zouden de goede voornemens van de Formule 1-coureurs zijn? Er is in elk geval genoeg om je als autosportliefhebber op te verheugen voor 2018.

Bij Mercedes neemt Valtteri Bottas zich voor om meer races te winnen en een gooi naar de titel te doen, een voornemen dat teniet wordt gedaan door het voornemen van Lewis Hamilton om met overmacht zijn vijfde titel te pakken. De Brit is immers blessed… Sebastian Vettel belooft plechtig om nooit meer zijn hoofd te verliezen zoals in Azerbeidzjan dit jaar, een belofte die hij na een frustrerend verlopen race parkeert tot 2019 of 2020.

Daniel Ricciardo neemt zich voor om in 2018 net zoveel te lachen en grijnzen als dit jaar, een voornemen dat alleen overboord gaat als de betrouwbaarheid en het vermogen van de Renault-motor toch weer teleurstellen. Dat is meteen ook het goede voornemen van Renault, om eindelijk een aandrijflijn te produceren die kan wedijveren met de krachtbronnen van Mercedes en Ferrari.

Sauber-coureur Marcus Ericsson neemt zich voor om niet nogmaals als veldvulling te dienen, maar het goede voornemen van zijn nieuwe teamgenoot Charles Leclerc is om de Zweed tot gort te rijden. De Formule 2-kampioen maakt dan toch een grotere kans om zijn goede voornemen waar te maken dan Ericsson. Sauber is voornemens om de rode lantaarn over te dragen aan een ander team, maar welk team komt daar dan voor in aanmerking?

Scuderia Toro Rosso schiet gezien de vele problemen van nieuwe motorenpartner Honda van de afgelopen jaren te binnen, maar ook in Japan doen ze aan goede voornemens. Althans, in Japan begint iedereen elk jaar weer met een schone lei. Het is nu aan Honda om de beloftes over beterschap eindelijk ook echt waar te maken, anders blijft er van het huidige enthousiasme over de samenwerking weinig over.

Esteban Ocon en Sergio Perez nemen zich voor om niet te bakkeleien op de baan, maar hoe lang zal dat stand houden? Carlos Sainz zou zich voor moeten nemen dat hij minder gaat benadrukken hoe goed Carlos Sainz het doet, die geldingsdrang heeft wat weg van Calimero-gedrag. En Max Verstappen neemt zich voor om vaker te winnen, nieuwe records te vestigen en minder scheldwoorden naar de hoofden van bepaalde stewards te slingeren.

Hoe luidt het gezegde ook alweer? De weg naar hel is geplaveid met goede voornemens. Daden zeggen meer dan woorden. Daarom doen we bij F1Today.net niet aan goede voornemens. We kunnen alleen beloven dat we ook in 2018 ons best zullen blijven doen om jullie zo goed mogelijk van zoveel mogelijk autosportnieuws te voorzien. We wensen iedereen fijne feestdagen en hopen dat jullie onze site ook volgend jaar veelvuldig zullen bezoeken. Tot in 2018!

  Ik begrijp jouw reactie niet. Er staat toch "hopen" in die laatste zin? En inderdaad, je hoeft de site niet te bezoeken. Beetje zure reactie hoor.

Geen betaalversie van deze si te, geen nieuw uiterlijk, meer interactie......

Misschien zou een voornemen als objectiever berichtgeving dan een goede zijn of wat minder misleidende koppen? Ik droom natuurlijk. Dat blijkt al uit deze column, die Sainz van Calimero-gedrag beschuldigd in de hoop meer klik s te krijgen.

Afijn, deze post zal er niet lang staan denk ik. hooguit 10 min.

  Exact. Ik kom hier al langere tijd maar ben met name dit jaar afgeknapt op een aantal dingen. Het toestaan dat de sfeer minder wordt door flamewars, niet reageren op mails, naar willekeur censuur toepassen door reacties te blokkeren of zonder melding gewoon te verwijderen. De kwaliteit van berichten ging ook achteruit zoals billgates307 ook noemt en technisch mag deze site ook hoognodig wel eens een update hebben.

Mijn goede voornemen is om minimaal twee formule 1 / Flipflop te kijken of het inderdaad zo storend is met dat omgekeerde hertengewei erop.

Ik heb maar één goed voornemen, en dat is om te proberen niet de hele buurt bij elkaar te vloeken om die verrekte teenslipper ;)
