Jamie Green pakt pole voor tweede race op Zandvoort

Audi-coureur Jamie Green heeft zich verzekerd van de pole position voor de tweede race van het DTM op Zandvoort. De Brit bleef de Mercedessen van Gary Paffett en Christian Vietoris voor.

Al na drie minuten in de kwalificatie kwam de rode vlag naar buiten, want Daniel Juncadella stond in de grindbak. In de resterende zestien minuten werd vervolgend bepaald wie er vanmiddag als eerste van start mag gaan tijdens de zestig minuten durende race. Christian Vietoris en Edoardo Mortara openden als snelsten, maar tijdens de tweede run bleken ze niets aan hun tijd te hebben.

Green zette een 1:30.696 neer en was daarmee een tiende sneller dan Paffett. Vietoris verbeterde zijn tijd en werd derde, voor Mortara die hetzelfde deed. Robert Wickens, winnaar van gisteren, kwalificeerde zich als vijfde, voor Timo Glock, Marco Wittmann, Esteban Ocon, Mattias Ekström en Nico Müller. Debutant René Rast, die invalt voor de geblesseerde Adrien Tambay, kwalificeerde zich op de 22e plaats.
