Wittmann herovert leiding in kampioenschap met zege in Moskou

Marco Wittmann heeft de tweede race van de DTM op de Moscow Raceway gewonnen. De BMW-rijder bleef merkgenoten Tom Blomqvist, Bruno Spengler en Augusto Farfus voor en nam zo de leiding in het kampioenschap weer over van Robert Wickens.

Wittmann startte van pole en kon met dank aan Wickens, die bij de start Blomqvist te grazen nam, een mooi gaatje trekken voor de pitstops. Bij de pitstops kwam Blomqvist terug op de tweede plaats, terwijl Wickens gaandeweg steeds verder terugviel tot een vijfde plaats aan de meet.

Wittmann liep in het restant van de race nog iets verder uit en greep zo de zege in de tweede race in Rusland. Blomqvist pakte zijn derde tweede positie van het jaar en deed dat met een grote voorsprong op Spengler en Farfus. De beste Audi was Edoardo Mortara, die direct achter Wickens op een zesde positie eindigde.
