Rosenqvist bevestigd voor de Nürburgring

Felix Rosenqvist verdedigt ook bij de volgende DTM-race op de Nürburgring de eer van Mercedes. De Zweed maakte afgelopen weekend in Moskou zijn debuut in de toerwagenklasse. Hij verving Esteban Ocon, die bij Manor Racing voor zijn kans in de Formule 1 gaat.

Rosenqvist deed dat met verve. Hij finishte zijn eerste race als tiende en dus in de punten. "Het was geweldig! In de punten eindigen bij mijn debuut was meer dan waar ik op gehoopt had. Ik heb gehoord dat het maar twee coureurs eerder is gelukt en niemand van Mercedes. Dat stemt me wel trots. Op zondag heb ik gemerkt hoe moeilijk het is vooraan mee te doen in de DTM."

Al met al een keurig eerste weekend en Rosenqvist mag terugkomen. "We hebben na het weekend om de tafel gezeten en Uli Fritz heeft gezegd dat ik ook op de Nürburgring zal rijden. Dat is mooi nieuws, daar ben ik blij mee! Ik kan nauwelijks wachten tot het zover is en ga mijn best doen om de resultaten uit Moskou in de Eifel te evenaren en het liefst te verbeteren."
