De Vries test deze week voor Audi op de Lausitzring

Nyck de Vries is door Audi opgeroepen voor de DTM Young Driver-test van deze week op de Lausitzring. De Nederlander maakt onderdeel uit van een verzameling jonge coureurs die aan de Duitse autofabrikant mogen laten zien wat ze in hun mars hebben.

Audi beoordeelt aan de hand van de testresultaten of deze rijders de potentie hebben voor een toekomst in de DTM. De Vries is met zijn 22 jaar de oudste van het stel. De Nederlander is niet de enige vertegenwoordiger uit de Benelux. Audi heeft namelijk ook de 19-jarige Dries Vanthoor uit België uitgenodigd.

De uit de ADAC Formule 4 afkomstige Zuid-Afrikaan Jonathan Aberdein is eveneens 19 jaar en is ook van de partij. Ferdinand Habsburg, een 20-jarige Oostenrijker, verdiende met zijn prestaties in het Europees kampioenschap Formule 3 een uitverkiezing. Alex Palou, een 20-jarige Spanjaard, racete dit jaar in de Formule 2, Formule V8 3.5 en de Japanse Formule 3.

De 21-jarige Yann Ehrlacher uit Frankrijk, actief in het WTCC, completeert het zestal. Nico Müller is namens Audi aanwezig om als referentiepunt te fungeren.
