Viscaal dit seizoen actief in de European Le Mans Series

Voormalig Formule 2-coureur Bent Viscaal gaat dit seizoen racen in een LMP2-prototype. De Nederlandse coureur was tot vorig jaar actief in de Formule 2. In de hoogste opstapklasse van de autosport wist hij meermaals naar het podium te rijden maar dit jaar was er geen stoeltje meer vrij voor hem in de klasse.

Hij stapt dit jaar dan ook over naar de prototypes. Viscaal gaat een LMP2-bolide besturen in de European Le Mans Series. Hij zal daar uitkomen in een wagen van het team van Algarve Pro Racing. De Nederlander zal zijn auto delen met twee andere coureurs. Eén van zijn teamgenoten is al bekend: Sophia Flörsch.

De derde coureur van het team is nog niet bekend gemaakt. Het seizoen van de ELMS begint over enkele weken op zondag 17 april. Dan zullen Viscaal en co een vier uursrace rijden op het circuit van Paul Ricard. Viscaal heeft nog geen ervaring in de prototypes. Wel heeft de Nederlander dit jaar meegedaan aan de virtuele 24 uur van Le Mans. Dit virtueel toernooi verliep zeker niet slecht voor Viscaal, hij werd derde.
