Massa sprak met McLaren over stoeltje voor 2014

Felipe Massa heeft met meerdere teams gepraat over een zitje voor volgend seizoen, waaronder McLaren. Dat onthulde de Braziliaan in Austin. Zelf ging hij in zee met Williams voor 2014, terwijl McLaren een plekje reserveert voor de jonge Kevin Magnussen.

"Ik heb niet alleen met Lotus gesproken, maar ook met Williams, Force India en McLaren", begint Massa. "Eerlijk gezegd, met alles dat gaande is en waar ik naar op zoek was, ben ik ervan overtuigd dat Williams de juiste keuze was. McLaren was een goede optie geweest, maar zij namen een andere afslag. Williams was het meest constructieve team voor de toekomst en ik geloof echt dat ik de juiste beslissing heb genomen."

"Williams beleeft een moeizaam jaar. Maar binnen het team gebeurt genoeg, met nieuwe mensen, een nieuwe auto, een andere motorleverancier en niet te vergeten de ingrijpende regelwijzigingen. Aerodynamica blijft belangrijk en op dat vlak probeert Williams aan te haken. Ze doen hun best om weer competitief te worden. Er verandert dus veel binnen het team, wat interessant en belangrijk is voor de toekomst, niet alleen voor volgend jaar."
