Brawn benieuwd naar effect van personele verschuivingen

Red Bull Racing raakt uiterlijk na volgend jaar aerodynamicaspecialist Peter Prodromou kwijt aan McLaren. Lotus verloor dit seizoen al technisch directeur James Allison aan Ferrari. Interessante ontwikkelingen op het personele vlak, vindt Mercedes-teambaas Ross Brawn, wiens toekomst ook nog onzeker is. De Brit is benieuwd welk effect dit op de verhoudingen zal hebben.

Brawn: "Ik ken Peter niet persoonlijk, maar hij heeft de reputatie van een goede engineer en is betrokken geweest bij veel succesvolle projecten. Zijn vertrek zullen ze voelen bij Red Bull Racing. Geen enkel team kan iemand van dat kaliber verliezen zonder dat het een impact heeft. Red Bull Racing weet zelf hoe het gaat in de Formule 1, zij staan waar ze staan omdat ze jaren geleden Adrian Newey van McLaren aantrokken."

"Dat hoort bij het proces in de Formule 1. Als Red Bull Racing een unieke filosofie heeft, dan zal McLaren daarmee in aanraking komen via Prodromou. Dat is de aard van de Formule 1. Het is vrij incestueus en engineers komen en gaan. James Allison is vertrokken bij Lotus waar hij een goede auto ontwierp. Nu zit hij bij Ferrari, dat volgend jaar ongetwijfeld sterker voor de dag zal komen. Zo gaat dat in de Formule 1."

Ben inderdaad ook heel benieuwd. Maar verwacht in 2014 nog een overgangsjaar voor McLaren. Misschien in 2015 dan met Magnussen en Alonso... :-)
Maar als die Prodromou pas eind 2014 komt denk ik niet dat zijn invloed eerder merkbaar is dan medio 2015 of misschien zelfs pas 2016.
