Formule 1 raakt sponsor LG kwijt

De Formule 1 moet het voortaan doen zonder LG als officiële sponsor. De Zuid-Koreaanse elektronicagigant houdt het na vijf jaar voor gezien. LG verlegt de focus in de sponsoring meer naar regionale platformen.

Het bedrijf was sinds november 2008 aan de Formule 1 verbonden. In de verklaring van LG staat: "Wij willen de vele organisaties, teams en individuen die we in onze tijd in deze sport zijn tegengekomen graag bedanken voor alle steun en medewerking."
