Race of Champions 2013 afgelast wegens politieke onrust

De organisatie van de Race of Champions heeft de editie van 2013 geannuleerd. Aanleiding vormt de aanhoudende onrust in Thailand, waar het evenement plaats zou vinden. Aanhangers en tegenstanders van de regering zorgen voor een grimmige sfeer in hoofdstad Bangkok.

De gedachten van de Race of Champions gaan uit naar de Thaise bevolking, zo meldt de organisatie in een verklaring. Fans die al een kaartje hadden gekocht krijgen hun geld terug. De Race of Champions verkent de opties om in de toekomst toch weer naar Thailand te gaan.
