Brawn buigt zich in de zomer over eventuele rentree

Ross Brawn neemt de komende maanden lekker vrijaf en gaat zich minstens een half jaar niet bezig houden met de Formule 1. Dat ving The Mirror op van de Brit. Brawn kondigde vorige week zijn afscheid als teambaas van Mercedes aan.

"Misschien ga ik rond de zomer eens wat rondneuzen en beslissen hoe ik mijn pad vervolg. Ik begin nu aan een sabbatical", aldus Brawn. "Als ik weer betrokken raak in de autosport, dan zal dat in de Formule 1 zijn, maar ik sta voor veel dingen open. Het hangt af van wat me motiveert en wat mensen me aanbieden, of ik heil zie in die projecten. Dat zijn allemaal dingen waar ik me in de zomer over zal buigen."

Brawn is al gelinkt aan Ferrari, Williams, McLaren en Honda, terwijl hij volgens Mercedes-teampresident Niki Lauda ook een functie bij de internationale autosportbond FIA kan gaan bekleden.
