Ecclestone mikt nu op 2015 voor New Jersey

Bernie Ecclestone heeft tegenover de Wall Street Journal aangegeven dat naast Mexico ook New Jersey niet op de definitieve kalender voor 2014 zal staan. Dat is al het tweede jaar op een rij dat de race met de skyline van New York wordt uitgesteld.

Aan de nieuwe vertraging liggen vele redenen ten grondslag, zo beweert Ecclestone. "We zijn er niet van overtuigd dat het ze gaat lukken om alles op tijd klaar te krijgen. We mikken nu op 2015 voor New Jersey."

Racepromotor Leo Hindery was niet bereikbaar voor commentaar. Bloomberg zocht contact met een woordvoerder, maar die liet weten dat de organisatie pas een verklaring afgeeft zodra het definitieve schema voor 2014 bekend is.
