Dakar: 'Peugeot in 2015 terug met Sainz en Loeb'

De geruchten dat Peugeot in 2015 zijn opwachting maakt in de Dakar nemen in hevigheid toe. Maar in plaats van Stephane Peterhansel als coureur zou Carlos Sainz het speerpunt van het Franse merk moeten worden. Dat bericht brengt de Spaanse krant AS.

Sainz verschijnt volgende maand met een Buggy aan de start van Dakar 2014 en heeft in het verleden succesvol samengewerkt met Volkswagen. De Spanjaard onderhoudt goede banden met Red Bull en dat zou ook de sponsor van het project van Peugeot zijn.

Naast Sainz moet ook veelvoudig rallykampioen Sebastien Loeb namens Peugeot in Dakar in actie komen, zo is de bedoeling. Loeb debuteert komend seizoen in het World Touring Car Championship voor Citroën, een merk uit dezelfde groep als Peugeot.
