Red Bull Racing en Sebastian Vettel zijn ook voor 2014 de gedoodverfde favorieten voor de wereldtitels. Dat betoogt Mark Webber tegenover de BBC. De ingrijpende reglementswijzigingen tasten de dominante positie van Red Bull Racing en Vettel niet aan.

Althans, dat is de overtuiging van Webber. "Ze zijn volgend jaar gewoon weer favoriet, Sebastian is favoriet voor het kampioenschap bij de coureurs. Ik acht de kans groot dat ze het seizoen ijzersterk aanvangen. Dat is waarschijnlijk niet wat de mensen willen horen, maar het is wel wat ik denk."

"De motor krijgt een grotere rol, wat voor sommigen niet slecht is. Maar de input van de coureurs is nog onverminderd groot, zeker wat betreft het management van alle verschillende systemen en het beheersen van het tempo. Dat is Vettel op het lijf geschreven, dit past perfect in zijn straatje."
