Formule 1 dit jaar voor vijftigste maal naar Silverstone

Het circuit van Silverstone is dit jaar voor de vijftigste keer gastheer van een Formule 1-race. Om dat jubileum te vieren zal de baan onder meer tentoonstellingen over de belangrijkste momenten uit de geschiedenis en bolides uit vijftig jaar Formule 1 op Silverstone organiseren.

Circuitdirecteur Richard Phillips: "2014 wordt bijzonder voor ons, met historische gebeurtenissen, activiteiten voor de fans en natuurlijk de race zelf. De Britse Grand Prix is het kroonjuweel van de Britse autosport en een van de meest geliefde evenementen op de Formule 1-kalender. Vaak noemen coureurs Silverstone in één adem met Monza, Monaco en Spa als het gaat over races die ze graag zouden willen winnen."
