Haas op schema om volgende deadline van FIA te halen

Gene Haas trekt zich vooralsnog weinig aan van de laatdunkende opmerkingen van Bernie Ecclestone over zijn inschrijving voor de Formule 1 voor 2015 en gaat onverstoorbaar verder. Autosprint bericht dat de Amerikaan op schema ligt om de volgende deadline van de FIA te halen.

De internationale autosportbond verlangt voor 10 februari bewijs over de mogelijkheden en bereidheid om met een adequaat budget in de Formule 1 te stappen. Dat is precies wat Haas van plan is. Hij heeft de in de Formule 1 bekende Gunther Steiner al geronseld voor het project. Het is de bedoeling dat hij motoren bij Ferrari afneemt en een chassis door Dallara laat ontwikkelen.

Ecclestone was nogal sceptisch over de inschrijving van Haas. "Iemand kan tien miljard op zijn bankrekening hebben, maar dat wil niet zeggen dat al het geld dan ook aan de Formule 1 wordt uitgegeven." Haas haalde eerder al zijn schouders op over die uitlatingen.
