Ecclestone spreekt zichzelf tegen over nieuwe reglementen

Bernie Ecclestone foeterde na de eerste testweek in Jerez dat het een wanvertoning was. De commerciële baas van de Formule 1 raasde nog even door over de nieuwe reglementen en maakte van zijn hart geen moordkuil. Zijn ongenoegen was duidelijk.

Hoe anders waren zijn teksten in het voorwoord van een rapport over de kijkcijfers voor de Formule 1 over 2013. De koningsklasse van de autosport bereikte vorig jaar vijftig miljoen mensen minder via de televisie. En in dat licht bezien zijn de nieuwe regels zeer welkom.

Althans, dat is plotseling de opvatting van Ecclestone. "Het zijn tijdige ontwikkelingen zoals deze waardoor de Formule 1 voorop blijft lopen qua duurzame en relevante technologieën. Ik ben er zeker van dat komend seizoen niet alleen onvoorspelbaarder zal verlopen, maar ook gepaard zal gaan met een impuls van opwinding en forse competitie."

    Sinds het bij Sport1 zit kijk ik alleen nog races die bij de BBC worden uitgezonden. Niet veel dus.

      Ik heb ook maar een paar races via sport1 (via de betaalde internet stream) gekeken. Dat beviel totaal niet. Maar ik ga het volgend jaar wel weer even proberen, nu hebben ze Mol en Mol zit eindelijk weer eens op locatie. Ik ben erg benieuwd hoe dat commentaar nu gaat.

      Ik heb überhaupt geen TV-aansluiting meer, had het helemaal gehad met al die stompzinnige programma's. Dus ik kijk nu op mijn laptop naar een live stream, en dat de kwaliteit dan vaak wat minder is, de races zijn ook niet zo leuk meer dus....

    Voor de echte geïnteresseerde die meer wil als een door semi deskundigen voorgekauwd verhaal uit de studio: Sky Sports F1. Klopt, daar moet je voor betalen en daar heeft de gemiddelde Nederlander een hekel aan, die wil alles 1e rang zien zonder reclame en er ook niet voor betalen, maar als je ziet hoe Sky F1 je huiskamer inbrengt: absoluut briljant! Oud F1 coureurs in overvloed, geweldige analyses, Anthony Davidson op de SkyPad, absoluut van klasse. Elke pond dubbel en dwars waard en ook nog echt HD ipv de geupscalde zooi die we via cheapo Canal Digitaal voorgeschoteld krijgen.....
