McLaren en Ferrari ook rivalen bij Winterspelen

Ferrari en McLaren zijn de oudste teams in de Formule 1 en elkaars grootste rivalen. Die rivaliteit druppelt nu ook door naar de Olympische Winterspelen in Sotsji. McLaren prepareerde de bobslee van het Britse team terwijl Ferrari de Italiaanse ploeg bijstond.

McLaren heeft zelfs twee medewerkers naar Rusland gestuurd om de Britse afvaardiging te helpen. Een woordvoerster vertelde aan Reuters: "Die rivaliteit bevalt ons wel, het is onderdeel van wie we zijn. Iedereen op de Spelen is serieus competitief en dat geldt ook voor Ferrari. Het is een extra element aan dit evenement. Het is gewoon leuk, meer niet."
