Super Aguri rijdt veel, maar blijft langzaam

Het team van Super Aguri heeft een productieve dag achter de rug. Coureurs Takuma Sato en Anthony Davidson reden in totaal 82 ronden. Tot snelle tijden kwam de Japanse renstal niet. Dat is ook niet verrassend, aangezien Super Aguri slechts vier dagen testte voor het seizoen en pas vlak voor de eerste race uit de geldproblemen raakte door een overname.

Hoewel het team nog steeds ruim vier seconden langzamer is dan de top voelt Davidson toch vooruitgang. Dit was een veel productievere dag dan welke sessie in Melbourne dan ook. De auto toonde zijn betrouwbaarheid en Takuma en ik hebben veel bandenwerk kunnen doen. Ik ben vrij tevreden met de balans van de auto. Ik heb goed kunnen werken met mijn nieuwe engineer Richard en het hele team heeft veel arbeid verricht.

Davidson eindigde achter Sato, die eveneens tevreden terugkijkt op de vrije trainingen. Het was een goede vrijdag. De auto raakte in het begin nog oververhit, maar dat kleine probleem hebben we opgelost en we hebben progressie geboekt. De auto kreeg steeds meer grip en aan het einde konden we nog wat verschillende afstellingen proberen. Hopelijk kunnen we onze snelheid nog iets verbeteren voor de kwalificatie van morgen.
