Kubica: "BMW Sauber nog niet klaar om te winnen"

BMW Sauber-coureur Robert Kubica acht zijn team nog net niet in staat om voor de overwinning te gaan. De Duitse renstal scoorde tot nu toe twee tweede plekken en heeft als doelstelling om dit jaar minstens één keer te winnen. Maar volgens Kubica is er nog een gat naar Ferrari en McLaren wat eerst overbrugd moet worden.

We waren de afgelopen twee Grands Prix in de buurt van de eerste plek en dat geeft ons veel motivatie om dat laatste beetje achterstand weg te werken, zegt de Pool. Je kan ook niet zomaar een overwinning plannen. En om races te winnen moeten we niet alleen het gat dichten, maar ook nog sneller gaan dan de rest. We zijn dus nog niet klaar om te zegevieren.

De vorm van topteams Ferrari en McLaren is voor Kubica nog een vraagteken. Als je naar de resultaten kijken waren wij het meest constant. Ferrari had het moeilijk in Australië en McLaren in Maleisië. In Melbourne kwam ik ook niet aan de eindstreep. We hebben dus nog een paar races nodig om te zien waar iedereen daadwerkelijk staat.
