Nieuwe Scuderia Toro Rosso-auto beleeft baandebuut

De nieuwe Scuderia Toro Rosso STR3 heeft zijn debuut gemaakt. Bij afwezigheid van vaste coureurs Sebastien Bourdais en Sebastian Vettel kreeg Red Bull-jongeling Brendon Hartley de eer om de bolide zijn shakedown op het circuit van Vairano te geven. De STR3, gebaseerd op de Red Bull Racing RB4 van de hand van Adrian Newey, moet bij de Grand Prix van Turkije zijn debuut maken.

Hartley reed op Vairano Circuit samen met Ferrari-testrijder Marc Gene, die rechte lijn-tests uitvoerde voor zijn Italiaanse werkgever. Het was niet de eerste keer dat de 18-jarige Nieuw-Zeelander in een Formule 1-auto plaatsnam. Hartley verzorgde vorige maand al een demonstratie in een auto van Red Bull Racing in Riyad, de hoofdstad van Saoedi-Arabië.
