Bridgestone van plan om zachte slicks kleurtje te geven

De echte ouderwetse slicks moeten volgend jaar terugkeren in de Formule 1, alleen brengt dat één klein probleem met zich mee. De gekleurde groef waardoor de zachtere van de hardere band te onderscheiden is, verdwijnt dan. Bandenleverancier Bridgestone is echter van plan om ook bij de slicks een duidelijk onderscheid te maken.

Een woordvoerster van de Japanse bandenfirma vertelde aan Motorsport Aktuell: We werken hier hard aan. Het mag duidelijk zijn dat het voor de fans en voor de media een geweldig extraatje is en wij zijn van plan om de verschillen in compounds volgend jaar ook te laten zien.

Hoe dat moet gebeuren is nog onduidelijk. In de inmiddels overleden Champ Car-serie kenmerkten de zachtere banden zich door een rode wang. Volgens de woordvoerster is het ook technisch mogelijk dat de hele band van de ene compound een andere kleur krijgt dan de andere compound.
