Dennis: "Hamilton heeft Bahrein al achter zich gelaten"

McLaren-coureur Lewis Hamilton is zijn dramaweekend in Bahrein nu al weer vergeten en hij richt zich volledig op de volgende race. Dat is de boodschap van teambaas Ron Dennis. Volgens de Engelsman is zijn pupil al met de voorbereiding op de Grand Prix van Spanje begonnen.

Dennis: Als je competitief wil zijn, moet je ook hard en kritisch op jezelf kunnen zijn. Ik ben daarin niet een uitzondering in het team, iedereen bij McLaren heeft moeite met verliezen. Maar we zijn ook vechters en als je dan een matige prestatie neerzet, dan wil je niets liever dan aan de volgende Grand Prix beginnen, omdat je weet dat je het beter zal doen.

Dat is hoe deze sport in elkaar steekt. Hoogtepunten en dieptepunten wisselen elkaar af. Het enige waar de coureurs voor het weekend naar kijken is de tussenstand in het kampioenschap. Op dit moment staat alles nog zo dicht bij elkaar dat het bijna te verwaarlozen valt. Lewis raakt nu echt niet in paniek. Hij heeft dit al achter zich gelaten en concentreert zich volledig op een goed resultaat in Spanje.
