Kovalainen beboet voor te hard rijden in de pitstraat

Gisteren is Heikki Kovalainen, coureur van het McLaren-team beboet vanwege het te hard rijden in de pitstraat. Het was niet de eerste keer dat Kovalainen een boete moest betalen vanwege de overtreding die door de FIA wordt benoemd als: "speeding in the pitlane".

Tijdens de vrije trainingen ging de Fin te snel door de pitstraat van Barcelona waarbij hij met een snelheid van 66,8 km/h door de pitstraat scheurde. In Barcelona is echter de snelheidslimiet vastgelegd op 60 km/h tijdens de trainingen. Tijdens de races mag er wel met een snelhied van boven de gereden snelheid van Kovalainen door de pitstraat worden gereden, namelijk 80 km/h.

De Finse McLaren-coureur Heikki Kovalainen moet 1.400 US dollar overmaken naar de bankrekening van de FIA om zijn boete voor het te hard rijden van zes kilometer per uur in te lossen.
