Kubica: "Het is goed mogelijk dat ik na de Formule 1 ga rallyrijden"

BMW Sauber-coureur Robert Kubica vreest niet voor een zwart gat na zijn Formule 1-carrière. De Pool is namelijk een groot fan van rallyrijden en acht het zeer goed mogelijk dat hij na zijn loopbaan in de koningklasse van de autosport aan rallys gaat deelnemen.

Kubica: Als ik echt een serieuze rallycarrière wil, kan ik niet lang meer wachten. Maar voordat ik daaraan begin wil ik eerst echt iets bereiken in de Formule 1. Een andere optie is dat ik pas na mijn Formule 1-leven aan rallyrijden begin, puur voor de lol. En die tweede optie lijkt op dit moment het meest waarschijnlijk.

Kubica maakte in 2006 zijn Grand Prix-debuut als vervanger voor Jacques Villeneuve en snelde in zijn derde race al naar het podium. De Pool breekt dit jaar definitief door met na vier races een oogst van twee podiumplekken en zijn eerste pole position. Kubica staat op dit moment derde in het kampioenschap.
