Super Aguri bevestigt afrondende gesprekken met Weigl Group

Aguri Suzuki heeft vandaag bekend gemaakt dat de onderhandelingen met de Weigl Group in de afrondende fase zitten. Het wachten is nu op Honda Racing, dat tijdens een vergadering begin volgende week moet instemmen met het bod van Franz Josef Weigl.

Super Aguri-teambaas Aguri Suzuki: "We zijn erg blij dat we erin geslaagd zijn op zo'n korte termijn weer in gesprek te gaan met de Weigl Group en dat we de mogelijkheid krijgen de investeerder opnieuw voor te stellen aan de Honda Board. Dankzij het bod zullen we in staat zijn op een goede manier deel te nemen aan het kampioenschap en ik hoop dan ook van harte dat alle partijen het bod zullen accepteren."

Franz Josef Weigl, hoofd van de Weigl Group, geeft aan dat hij volledig toegewijd is het team op de juiste manier te helpen. "De Weigl Group heeft besloten openheid van zaken te geven over deze moeilijke tijden voor het Super Aguri-team. Het is in het belang van alle sponsoren en partners van het team dat Super Aguri een hoopgevende toekomst tegemoet gaat."

Super Aguri bereidt zich op de normale manier voor op de Turkse Grand Prix. Het personeel vliegt dit weekeinde richting Istanbul. De auto's bevinden zich momenteel nog in Engeland, maar het team is ervan overtuigd dat ze op tijd ingevlogen kunnen worden bij een positief oordeel van de Honda Board.
