Kandidaten F1 Driven award bekend gemaakt

Afgelopen week zijn de kandidaten die mee strijden om de autosportprijs 'F1 Driven Racedriver of the Year' bekend geworden. In de afgelopen twee weken hebben duizenden autosportliefhebbers gestemd op zijn of haar favoriete coureur. De acht coureurs met de meeste stemmen en daarmee de kandidaten voor de competitie, zijn geworden: Chris van der Drift, Renger van der Zande, Shirley van der Lof, Giedo van der Garde, Yelmer Buurman, Jeroen Bleekemolen en onze columnist Carlo van Dam. Zij zullen vanaf vandaag gaan strijden om de titel 'F1 Driven racedriver of the year'.

Er moet hierbij wel vermeld worden dat Robert Doornbos en Jos verstappen ook in de top 8 stonden. Helaas is Robert uitgesloten van deelname, omdat hij op dit moment (nog) nergens rijdt en de jury hem dus niet kan volgen. Jos Verstappen behaalt nog altijd super resultaten, maar maakt plaats voor jong talent, die hem wellicht ooit op kunnen gaan volgen. Voor alle overige kandidaten komt er volgend jaar natuurlijk weer een nieuwe kans om mee te strijden.

Gedurende het raceseizoen worden de kandidaten beoordeeld door een vakjury onder leiding van de initiatiefnemer van deze autosportprijs, Michiel Mol. Michiel heeft als mede-eigenaar van het Force India F1 Team dit initiatief genomen om jong Nederlands talent de kans te geven zich verder kunnen ontwikkelen in de autosport.

De overige juryleden zijn: Jan Lammers; één van Neerlands bekendste autosporticonen, Allard Kalff; pitreporter en verslaggever in diverse autosportprogrammas bij RTL, Lodewijk Varossieau, oprichter en CEO van sportmarketingbureau GR8 Industries en voormalig manager van Christijan Albers, Kees van der Grint; sporting director van Bridgestone en dé man achter het succes van Ferrari en Schumacher en Bernhard van Oranje; het snelste lid van de koninklijke familie.

Daarnaast kunnen de Nederlandse autosportliefhebbers mee stemmen via www.F1Driven.com of per SMS. Stemmers maken kans op diverse prijzen, waaronder een reis naar een Grand Prix in Europa.
