Singapore biedt coureurs meer avondsessies

De organisatie van de Grand Prix van Singapore heeft het tijdschema aangepast. Het originele plan was om de eerste sessie op zowel vrijdag als zaterdag onder daglicht te laten plaatsvinden, maar nadat sommige teams hun zorgen kenbaar maakten is dat nu veranderd. De eerste vrije training en de derde vrije training beginnen nu om zeven uur s avonds.

In het eerste schema waren die sessies al om zes uur afgelopen. Een campagne onder leiding van Scuderia Toro Rosso-teammanager Massimo Rivola heeft voor de wijziging gezorgd. De coureurs en teams rijden nu het hele weekend onder kunstlicht om goed te kunnen wennen en zich voor te bereiden voor de allereerste avondrace in de Formule 1.

Het nieuwe tijdschema ziet er als volgt uit:
Vrije training 1 - vrijdag 19:00-20:30 uur
Vrije training 2 - vrijdag 21:30-23:00 uur
Vrije training 3 - zaterdag 19:00-20:00 uur
Kwalificatie - zaterdag 22:00-23:00 uur
Race - zondag 20:00 uur
