Fisichella's jubileumrace wordt nog erger

Hoewel er in feite niets zal gebeuren met een vijf-posities terug straf voor de Italiaan, zal het niet goed voelen bij de coureur die zich in Monte Carlo als allerlaatste kwalificeerde. Sutil was zelfs sneller dan zijn Force India-teamgenoot.

Voorafgaand aan de kwalificatie had Fisichella zijn versnellingsbak vervangen, hetgeen leidt tot een straf waarbij de coureur vijf plaatsen wordt teruggezet in de startopstelling. Fisichella staat al laatste, dus zal morgen ook gewoon vanaf de twintigste positie starten.

Ook Sebastien Vettel heeft deze straf inmiddels moeten accepteren. Door het debuut van de nieuwe STR3, waar een nieuwe versnellingsbak in is geplaatst, moet de jonge Duitser met een zelfde straf als die van Fisichella, boeten voor de technische truc.
