Stratencircuit Valencia wordt in juli uitgeprobeerd

Het Circuito Urbano de Valencia organiseert op 26 en 27 juli voor het eerst races. Een maand voor de allereerste Grand Prix beleven de Spaanse Formule 3 en het internationale GT Open-kampioenschap de primeur. De races worden door promotor Valmor Sports gezien als een goede generale voor de Formule 1-race.

Fernando Roig, president van Valmor Sports, legt uit: Deze races zijn een goede test om het asfalt, het circuit, de bereikbaarheid en de faciliteiten voor de organisatie te testen. De coureurs mogen zich gelukkig prijzen dat ze als eerste het Circuito Urbano de Valencia mogen uitproberen.

Jesus Pareja, baas van evenementpromotor GTSports: Het stratencircuit van Valencia gaat een nieuwe standaard in de autosport zetten. Ik heb nog nooit zo uitgekeken naar een nieuw circuit. De organisatie denkt dat er 20.000 toeschouwers op de eerste races af zullen komen. De Grand Prix, die op 24 augustus wordt verreden, is al uitverkocht.
