Anderson heeft plannen voor Amerikaans Formule 1-team

Portugese media melden dat Ken Anderson van plan is om een Amerikaanse Formule 1-renstal uit de grond te stampen. Het team moet volgend jaar al op de grid staan en zou steun krijgen van Honda in de vorm van motoren, versnellingsbakken en KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System). Super Aguri, een ander dochterteam van de Japanse renstal, trok zich eerder dit jaar terug.

Anderson sprak tijdens het Grand Prix-weekend in Canada met Honda-teambaas Ross Brawn en Honda Racing-directeur Nick Fry en heeft voor deze week een ontmoeting met Bernie Ecclestone gepland. Honda en Anderson wilden geen commentaar geven op de geruchten. Takuma Sato wordt genoemd als een mogelijke coureur voor het nieuwe team, met als eventuele teamgenoot de Portugees Alvaro Parente.

Anderson zou zijn renstal in de zomer officieel bekend willen maken. De Amerikaan krijgt volgens de verhalen steun van de Amerikaanse afdeling van Honda en heeft ook meerdere sponsors uit de Verenigde Staten weten te strikken.
